Boneset ~

Botanical Name: Eupatorium perfoliatum
Also Known As: Thoroughwort

Boneset is a perennial North American herb traditionally valued by Indigenous peoples and later American herbalists. Its distinctive leaves appear to grow around and through the upright stem, giving the plant its species name perfoliatum.

Boneset has a long history in traditional seasonal, respiratory, and general wellness herbal practices. The dried aerial portions have traditionally been prepared as bitter herbal infusions and extracts.

Because Boneset is a strong, intensely bitter botanical, it is best suited to occasional traditional use rather than as an everyday herbal tea.

Suggested Uses

If you have liver disease, a history of liver problems, or regularly use medications or substances that may affect the liver, consult a qualified healthcare professional before use.

Large amounts may cause nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.

Avoid excessive or prolonged use.
