Also known as Pikes Peak Jade, Colorado Jade, Amazon Stone, or Amazon Jade. This is a blue-green variety of Microcline, an alkali feldspar mineral, and gets its color from traces of lead and water. It is named for the Amazon River, which hosts an abundance of it, and was used in ancient civilizations and even found in the tomb of Egyptian King Tut. Also adorned the shields of the Amazonian female warriors in Central and South America. Amazonite is a stone of peace, truth, harmony, and communication.
