Lobelia ~
Botanical Name: Lobelia inflata
Used to treat asthma, allergies, whooping cough, congestion and bronchitis. Useful for tobacco withdrawal as an herbal remedy to quit smoking. Also known as Indian tobacco because it contains lobeline, a chemical make up similar to nicotine and was used as an alternative to tobacco. An antispasmodic and relaxing herb that eases muscle tension, menstrual cramps, intestinal discomfort, increases blood and lymph flow.
Warning: Not to be used during pregnancy. May cause nausea and vomiting if ingested; not to be taken in large doses.
